Banco Sabadell talks up mobile channel

Spain’s Banco Sabadell says that 80 per cent of its customer operations are being carried out via remote banking, with 15 per cent accessing their accounts via mobile phones. It made the announcement during the launch of a mobile device advertising campaign, using the slogan: This isn't remote banking, it's taking the bank with you

It's currently the only bank in Spain that accepts operations on all platforms (iPhone/iPad, Android, Blackberry and Windows phone). Miguel Montes, the bank's deputy general manager, says: "Over the next few years, we will see major growth in operations via mobile channels. In fact, the process has already started. Queries via social networks and particularly Twitter are increasing non-stop. Some customers have even started asking for commercial offers via this channel."
